About Me

Kia Ora!

I’m Lindsay, a Registered Nurse and Lactation Consultant with more than 12 years of experience in women and infants health. Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, I relocated to Auckland with my partner, a Kiwi, in search of warmer weather and a better accent :). Soon after settling here in New Zealand, I became a mother to my lovely daughter. As a new mother, I realized the need for more support for parents like me. Despite my extensive experience, I found myself exhausted and stressed. I constantly worried if I was doing the “right thing” for my little girl. My daughter was not a “sleeper” despite trying all the things! I would scroll through social media for answers, just like many other parents which often left me more confused. This inspired me to become a Mama Coach. I’m driven by my passion to equip parents with evidence-based knowledge and tools to make their parenting journey easier. I believe every parent deserves to feel confident and empowered in their role. I want to share evidence-based solutions for all the journeys parenting brings! When I’m not “mumming” or mama coaching, I enjoy gardening or baking while jamming to country music much to my partners whingeing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Good question!  We are called The Mama Coach because years ago, when Carrie’s (our founder) first boy was very small, she often wondered out loud to herself, “Where is my Mama Coach?” and “I need a Mama Coach!”.  Carrie searched and searched for qualified support and realized there was a need for qualified support for new families. We recognize that our name can give the impression that we only serve moms, but we will continue to work and learn to ensure our messaging is clear that all people are welcome here. Parents carry a heavy load, and do it with grace.  All parents deserve support, and The Mama Coach is the answer you’ve been searching for.

We do not just support moms — we help ALL people.  All are welcome here, and we are committed to providing you with quality support, no matter your gender or family dynamic.  As we learned in nursing school, your family is who YOU say they are.

We get asked this one all the time.  As Registered Nurses, having merely one method does not align with how we were trained in University to utilize the nursing process.

The Nursing Process is defined as, a “systematic approach to care using the fundamental principles of critical thinking, client-centered approaches to treatment, goal-oriented tasks, evidence-based practice (EDP) recommendations, and nursing intuition.  Holistic and scientific postulates are integrated to provide the basis for compassionate, quality-based care” (*1).

Simply put, we will assess your child using our nursing training to determine the best way to help your family reach their goals, walking beside you all the way.  You can choose us with confidence, knowing you have picked the most qualified resource to support your family’s journey.

Yes.  As Registered Nurses, we have years of training on where to access credible guidelines and information. All of our programming is based on extensive research from credible sources.

As Registered Nurses, it is our professional obligation to manage client records and confidential information properly.  We use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that is compliant throughout North America.  Even though we share the same brand, we are all independent Registered Nurses with our own private practices. As such, we each have our own EMR that is private and secure. We do not share EMR or client information between one another without consent.
